Assessing Multi-Dimensional Forest Impacts

Tropical forest concessions in Cameroon face complex environmental challenges: biodiversity hotspots, watershed sensitivity, indigenous land use, and carbon stock implications. Key Finding

The EIA identified 3 high-significance impacts (biodiversity habitat loss, watercourse sedimentation, and community forest access disruption) and 5 moderate-significance impacts. The 23 mitigation measures were designed to reduce all high-significance impacts to moderate levels post-implementation, with zero-net-loss commitment for critical habitat. The 5-year monitoring plan includes 47 indicators with quarterly reporting to the Ministry of Environment and IFC compliance monitoring.
